1. Home Banking Two Factor Authentication
In order to make your Home Banking experience as secure as possible, we are introducing a new security feature. Most of the time your Home Banking experience will be the same as it was before, only now you will have an extra layer of security working behind-the-scenes to protect you.
If we detect any activity that does not seem like your typical behavior, we will prompt you to further verify your identity so that we can ensure it is you and not someone else trying to access your information.
Normally you will not be asked for any additional information. However, for example, if someone tries to sign in with your user name and password from a computer in a foreign country shortly after you have logged off from your normal computer at home, we may decide to verify that it is really you trying to access your account.This means you can now bank online with a renewed sense of confidence.
Expect to be prompted to setup your security profile in the coming weeks. If you experience trouble accessing Home Banking, please contact us at 713-336-5500 during normal business hours.
All Home Banking users are required to use this security system. This security system was put into place in order to be compliant with the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC). FFIEC's guidance requires all financial institutions to do a security assessment and implement additional multi factor solutions to protect online transactions made by their members/customers. You can review their guidance on their website, http://www.ffiec.gov.
Implementation has begun. The process has already begun to and will continue for the next several weeks. Many of you may have not realized the process has begun, and that was TBACU's intent. We want to make the process as seamless as possible. However, within the coming weeks, you will be asked to provide additional information. This is for your benefit and security.
Troubleshooting Some members may be experiencing error messages such as "time out due to prolonged inactivity" or "timeout due to illegal activity." If this is the case, make sure you have Flash installed . If you continue to experience these error messages after checking on these two items, please contact us at 713-336-5500 during normal business hours.
Please understand that these are federally mandated requirements that TBACU is complying with to ensure your online safety.

2. Home Banking Enhancements: Quick Enroll and Dynamic Alerts
- Quick Enroll: Signing up for TBACU’s STAR Online Banking has never been easier! All you need is any one of your account or loan numbers. Simply go to home banking and click on "Enroll Online" located on the left. Complete the online registration and have access to any of your TBACU account information. After you register, you will be prompted to select all other accounts you own.
- Dynamic Alerts: Want to be notified when a specific check clears? How about if your balance drops below a certain dollar amount? Now you can with Dynamic Alerts! You now have the ability to set up financial and personal reminders from the STAR Online Banking site. Click here for instructions on how to setup your Dynamic Alerts!

3. eStatements
We have made significant improvements to our eStatement service! You now have the ability to view up to 36 months (April 2006 and forward) of statement history through online banking! Best of all, this service is still free! Not signed up for eStatements? Simply login to home banking and click on the eStatement link at the top of the page after you have logged in. If you are a new user to eStatements, you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions. Once you have accepted the terms and conditions, your past statement history is immediately available for you to view. How cool is that?

4. 2008 Royce Phares Scholarship Program
We are accepting applications for Texas Bay Area Credit Union’s Annual
Royce Phares Scholarship Program, February 1st through May 31st, 2008.
Five (5) scholarships, each in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded. The scholarships
are available to all TBACU members/graduating high school seniors pursuing higher
education from an accredited college or university for the fall 2008 semester. DEADLINE for all applications is May, 31st, 2008.
